Dish-washing GTD

2-minute-rule

GTD was introduced almost 20 years ago. In many aspects, I use GTD principal in my work.

By the way, there’s famous 2-minute-rule in GTD. That is, “when your task is going to be done within 2 minutes, do it now” rule. no delegation, no planning, just get it done.

Yesterday I just found that

“Should I wash the dishes now as it might be done within 2 mins?”

Many occasion, there’re only a few dishes e.g. after I gave some fruits to kids, after simple lunch such as noodle balls, and so on.

I’d thought it must’ve been more efficient if I do as many dishes as possible at once. But if you look back the famous GTD rule, I might have been wrong.

I have a dishwasher in my kitchen, yet it might be better to get a few dishes done instead of put them in the dishwasher (it also takes maybe 30 seconds anyway).

The dishwasher should be used after dinner anyway. because our dishwasher is a bit small, it might be wise to spare the capacity for it, by doing 2-min-dishwashing.
