If Apple wants to revive Magsafe for MacBooks, it should be apple version of Surface connect (with Surface Dock). It might be happening as new iMac "MagSafe" cable looks like to be able to deliver the data along with power (the powerbrik has ethernet port, right ?) .

Otherwise it's nonsence they waste the highly limited realestate of side of ultra think laptop for just one proprietaly power port.
