It's huge advantage to have retina display indeed, but have you not struggled to adapt your finders to butterfly keyboard ?
I've got 11inch MBA for on the go, light weight task only machine. Keyboard is not as great as mechanicals but for me even better than magic keyboard which is implemented to the latest macbook lines.
