I’ve got totally the same. The dent (okay, luckily it’s not dents yet) on the edge after I guess 6months of usage.
Although I hardly ever took my Air out because of the pandemic as you see.
Oh I forgot to mention one more thing.
I’ve been owning 2013 Macbook Air and took it around the world without any cases and no single dent/scratch on the edge.
