usage of one day

When Catalina introduced, MacOS also has screen time, which records and visualise the usage of applications, how long you use it….

No, it’s not visualised at all.

The picture above is my usage of MacOS of one day, screenshot of Screen time.

You can see total time of usage of the computer as 5h17m and when I used the computer (e.g. I closed the computer during 6 pm for dinner) .

However, the Apps section is awful.

All the apps were used for 5h17m.

Is that possible ? If you add them up, it will surpass 24h !

It seems that the screentime functionality tracks the usage of applicaitons as far as it’s running. Wether I use it as active or it runs background (thus I do not use it).

I’m not iPhone user, so I’m no sure how it is in iOS. But my android smartphone does way better job. take a look the screenshots below.

You can see which apps you really used instead of showing running time including background.

I guess Apple should’ve been able to do it better to see if it is actively used or not.

For now, it is not so useful feature, I have to say.
